Away days, 24 hour breaks, training days for charity hillwalking challenges or weekend breaks can be tailored made to suit your personal or group’s desires and walking experience, but how does this sound for a plan…….Gather a group of your friends together, choose a weekend that suits all of you and head to Bryansford village in the spectacular Mourne Mountains, on a Friday evening. Relax over a cheeseboard and glass of red wine , catching up with your friends and pondering the route for tomorrow, oh, and the weather!!

On Saturday morning, after a leisurely breakfast, tighten the bootlaces and remember to pack the lunch into the rucksacks…….and we are off for an explore of the beautiful Mourne Mountains.

Relax over a delicious home cooked meal, replenishing the calories burnt off earlier in the day – time to chill out and discuss some future challenges.

After a leisurely Sunday breakfast head to Tollymore Forest Park for a walk in the sunshine, breathing in the clear mountain air or head to ‘Soak’ the Seaweed Baths in Newcastle which promise silken skin and freedom from aches……….. then back to Roden Court where there will be time over lunch to reflect on what might be next – a more challenging walk in the Mournes, signing up for the one of Ulster Cancer Foundation’s All New Challenge Events or simply a personal promise to spend a little more time being active outdoors, before heading for home - refreshed and invigorated.
